I own a lot of corsets and this rates up there with 4 to 5 hundred dollar corsets. It looks better in person and is of great quality. Don't be afraid to by a size smaller if you really want to cinch everything up,this corset can take it. All to often corsets at this price are appearance only and not really functional. What I mean is others may look cute but if you try to pull them real tight something breaks ,you can put your back into cinching this baby up and that's the whole idea behind a corset. Don't pass this one up,this is by far the best corset at this price

The corset is awesome, i probably shouldve gotten it a size bigger cuz i had trouble getting it to close but im hoping that as i wear it more, it will get easier. the material is great.

I am very pleased with this corset. I was hoping it was a bit longer but the neck piece fits fine. Nice quality although tucking the placket into place can be tricky as you tighten the corset but well worth the effort. The sizing guide was dead-on.

Fabric: real, soft leather (the Shaper corset homepage says it's made from goat leather) and real, sturdy cotton, as far as I can tell. No visible damages.
Workmanship: good, all the seams are ok and look durable. Two or three of the grommets and rivets are unevenly spaced but it's unnoticeable unless you look very, very closely.
Sizing: With an exact 28-inch waist I ordered a size 38 as recommended by the size table. The corset runs true to size, with one exception: I had to add three additional grommets to the neck closure otherwise it would have hung loosely from my nape.
Shape: It features a long pointed front (and back) but sitting is possible without a problem. It is long enough to look good on people taller than 5.7ft.
In action: Since purchasing I wore it once, but for 11 hours straight (to a concert and the aftershow party) and found it to be one of the most comfortable corsets I own. I am a light-to-medium lacer with a lacing gap of about 2 inches, so your mileage may vary.
Effect on environment: very positive, I got asked where on earth I purchased this beautiful item.

Wow! This thing isn't kidding! The most remarkable feature about this thing is the quality of craftmanship. It is everything they said it was. The instructions for lacing up the back are pretty lame, but I figured it out.
The leather is sturdy - sort of like a leather jacket. Fairly soft. However the instructions said that the more you wear it, the more it will stretch - and to expect it to stretch about 2 inches.
I certainly hope they mean that. I need it to stretch...
Be very careful about the sizing... corset sizes are strange.
FYI: My waist measured 28.5 inches. The chart said to get a size 38.
If I had been 29 inches, it said to order a size 40. I should have ordered a size 40. There is no room to budge if you are on the border. The 4 inch flap of leather in back which goes under the laces will gap and look real bad if you are even borderline.
The return warning states that you cannot wear it for any period of time if you want to return it. You should be sure that your size is correct. If you are borderline like I am, I would certainly order up. Shipping back and forth adds up - so I am keeping mine. I wish I had known.
Having said all that, it looks pretty good, depending on if you like your boobs to be the featured attraction - because they will be!
I cannot say this item is "comfortable" - but it is also NOT painful, (although it looks like it should be). If that is the look you are going for, you will not be disappointed.
